Keep Watching: A Horror Movie That Will Keep You on Your Toes
If you’re a fan of horror movies, chances are high that you’ve added “Keep Watching” to your watchlist. Released in 2017, this movie has been in the horror genre buzz since its trailer release. As someone who has watched the movie and is a diehard fan of horror movies, I have mixed feelings about “Keep Watching.”
The Storyline and Plot
“Keep Watching” follows the story of a family who is held hostage by a group of burglars. Instead of stealing from the house, they make the family watch them via hidden cameras as they murder innocent people outside. The film revolves around how these characters can come out of this situation alive.
The storyline initially seemed unique to me with its plot revolving around hidden cameras, but as the film progressed, it seemed too predictable. There were several moments in which I could predict what was going to happen next.
The Cast and Acting
When it comes to acting, Bella Thorne played her role very well as Jamie – the main female character in “Keep Watching.” Other than that, the acting felt forced, which made it challenging to connect with the characters on screen. It also felt as though the characters had a limited range of emotions.
The Popularity of “Keep Watching”
Despite my mixed feelings towards the movie, “Keep Watching” gained popularity due to its unique concept and storyline. Also, it helped that Bella Thorne’s immense popularity drew considerable attention to the movie.
The Soundtracks and Cinematography
The soundtracks and cinematography were decent, but nothing stood out in particular. The film’s dark tones made it feel like I was watching a horror movie – which could have been much creepier with better soundtracks and background music.
Evaluation and My Opinion
Despite my being a fan of horror movies, I found myself disappointed with “Keep Watching.” The storyline felt predictable, and although some jump scares kept me on edge, it wasn’t enough to make me feel scared or engaged throughout the entire duration of the film. However, if you’re someone who is just looking for a fun evening with friends, “Keep Watching” might be an ideal choice.

“Keep Watching” was directed by Sean Carter, and the screenplay was written by Joseph Dembner. The film was produced by Nicolas Chartier, Craig J. Flores, Alex Heineman, and Andrew Rona. The team did a great job with the production of the film – the hidden camera theme fit perfectly with how they used the cameras to create tension.
Conclusion
Overall, “Keep Watching” is worth a watch if you’re looking for a fun evening with friends. However, if you’re expecting a horror movie that will scare you for days to come or leave you breathless with fear – this isn’t it.
